I attended the London Zine Symposium on Saturday 21 April, 2007.
It was held at an old horses’ hospital near Russell Square.
Here is Natalie from Last Hours magazine, and at the table on the other side of hers are some people from the Cowley Club in Brighton.
There were yummy cakes for sale. The chocolate fudge cake was good, and so were the gingerbread people.
London Rollergirls had a stall.
Here are some guys with their comics.
This is Anna-Kaisa Laine from Finland with the great books/zines/brooches, badges she made. I bought her beautiful illustrated book Seikkailuja (Adventures). It is in Finnish but lucky for me it came with an insert with an English translation!
Here are my friends (left to right) Tina, Will, Lucy, Di, hanging out at the zine symposium. It got a bit cramped at times. You can see all the people behind them, looking at various zines/books/patches/stickers/etc for sale at the various stalls. If you’ve been to This Is Not Art in Newcastle, Australia, it was much smaller than the zine fair there but it was still cool.
Adam resting outside, far from the maddening crowd.
We adjourned to Russell Square to read our zines, sit in the sun, and chat.
I picked up a lot of zines which I intend to review over the coming weeks!
