Wandering in Soho

August 18, 2007

Today, Paul and I went into town and wandered around. We went into the sci-fi, fantasy, comics, books, DVDs, action figures, and more shop called Forbidden Planet. I love that place. I could spend SOOOOOOO much money there. I found two Ursula Le Guin books I want to read (the Dispossessed and the Left Hand of Darkness) but I’m proud to say that I didn’t buy them because I have so many other books on the go. I will probably buy them eventually though!

While wandering through Soho we came across a very large “power point” and “electric cord” on the side of a building, so of course, I had to take a photo (see below).

We also went into Cybercandy in Covent Garden and bought lots of yummy candy – a summer roll, 2 caramello koalas, peppermint freddo frog, junior mints, Hello Kittly candy necklace and more. I love that shop. Mmmmmmm, sugar rush!

Exciting family news

August 18, 2007

My sister Joanne (that’s her below with her daughters Annie and Lily) called me during the week with exciting news. She is expecting her third child! It is not due till April so it’s early days yet.

The other exciting news is that my sister Nicky (that’s her below with her Master of Public Policy!) is coming to visit me for three weeks in October-November and she has booked her tickets. She arrives the day after my 30th birthday but I’m sure I wasn’t going to celebrate it that hard on the day (it’s a Thursday) so I’ll have her here for three weeks. I’m very excited about showing her around London.

Yay for Flickr

August 14, 2007

I have finally paid some money and upgraded my Flickr account. The free account was good for a while, but once I reached the maximum limit of photos it was no fun anymore!

I have been going crazy adding photos and putting them into sets.

So check out my photos.

Antony Gormley

August 8, 2007

I posted recently about seeing the Antony Gormley exhibition at the Hayward Gallery. As we were walking through town on Saturday, across the river from the South Bank Centre (and the Hayward Gallery), we could see a heap of the sculptures on the buildings around the South Bank Centre and one on our side of the river.
